This opening to Batman was made in 1989, so it's not as up to date as other thrillers. The use of sinister and heroic music makes the storyline seem tense and dark. This goes along with the dark background and shadows that we see on the screen as the camera tracks along a cave-like place. While this going on, the names of the cast and crew are coming up in the middle of the screen. The writing is in yellow, which signifies the batman sign, and the tinge of blue in the black behind shows all the colours of the Batman logo. This reinforces the recognizable image that we all know whether we have seen the film or not. All writing is in block capitals, to make it more stand out and look bigger and important. The opening title sequence goes on for two and a half minutes before all the credits are finished and the story can begin, and they finish it off with a Batman symbol which makes it clear that the whole tracking shot had been tracking close up of the symbol itself.
